Community Standards

Introduction

By joining Breef, you agree to honor and adhere to Breef’s Community Standards. It’s important to our team and integral to our mission to ensure that every agency plays a role in creating a positive, respectful, and productive environment where brands and agencies can create great work together.

1. Take Pride in Your Work

What does this mean?
Put your best foot forward — your work and presence shape how brands view both your agency and Breef's platform.
When your team is put forward for a project opportunity on Breef, whether ‘big or small,’ we expect you to put your best foot forward. Remember that how you present yourself to the client is not only a reflection of your team, but a reflection of Breef's platform, agency community, and mission. To us, this includes being proactive in learning about the brand, being punctual, committing to excellence, and understanding that every detail matters. Start strong, finish strong, meet deadlines, and do work that you and your team take pride in.

2. Embrace Breef’s Role

What does this mean?
Breef supports you from pitch to close — we’re here to guide, advocate and help you win great work. We're on your team!
Breef exists to give agencies opportunities to work on exciting projects with great brands. The concept of ‘the perfect fit’ is at the core of everything we do — we want to make sure you and the client are the perfect fit for one another, based on the project scope, your team’s experience, the client’s preferences, and more. We’re passionate about giving you access to great opportunities. It’s also important to understand that Breef does not guarantee a consistent stream of work.

Breef plays an active role throughout the entire pitching process, from start to finish. We're here to guide next steps, advocate for both the client and agency, and ensure the project progresses seamlessly. Agencies are required to keep Breef in the loop at every stage of the process (until a contract is signed, or an opportunity is officially ‘lost’) by cc’ing connect@breef.com in all communication with Breef brands. By keeping us in the loop, you ensure that we can not only provide the client with a seamless process but also advocate for your team.

Once selected to work with a brand, all payments must be processed through the Breef Platform, as outlined in our Terms of Use. Any violation of this policy, or failure to keep Breef cc’d in communication, will result in Breef enforcing its Terms of Use, and possible suspension from the Breef Platform and our Service.

3. Lead with Kindness and Respect

What does this mean?
Commit to fostering a positive and inclusive community for every brand and agency on Breef.
Treat everyone, from Breef’s team to our clients and broader community, with kindness, respect, and professionalism, regardless of project outcomes. By fostering a respectful and inclusive environment, we uphold our commitment to championing diversity in every form — including race, thought, creativity, experience, and identity. This inclusivity strengthens the Breef Platform and community.

Breef has zero tolerance for disrespectful, hateful, or discriminatory language, harassment, or any form of harmful behavior. Discrimination based on anything (race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ability, or socioeconomic status) is not tolerated.

If you experience or witness any behavior that does not align with these expectations, please notify us immediately at community@breef.com

4. Be Honest & Transparent

What does this mean?
Be transparent about your agency and communicate proactively with Breef at every stage.
Be honest about your team, experience, capabilities, ability to execute, etc. All shared work, such as case studies and portfolios, must be your own. Conflicts of interest should be disclosed proactively to avoid any issues down the line.

Proactive communication is key. Agencies are required to keep Breef updated on all project developments with Breef brands during the pitching process. Consistent, timely and transparent communication is essential.

5. Embrace Feedback & Continuous Growth

What does this mean?
Use every pitch as a chance to learn, grow and improve. Embrace feedback and evolve with every opportunity.
Breef is committed to enriching and supporting Breef’s agency community, and we believe that every opportunity should inspire growth. Our pitching process is competitive by nature, and it’s important to understand that you may see a lower close rate on Breef compared to traditional 1-1 referrals or business development tactics. This is because your pitches are presented alongside others that have also been specifically and thoughtfully curated for the client's needs.

If you are not selected to work with a brand, we encourage you to see it as an opportunity to learn and refine your approach. Keep pitching, stay inspired, and leverage feedback — whether from the Breef team or Breef brands — to improve. Every opportunity, regardless of the outcome, is a chance to level up and evolve your work. While not every lost opportunity will come with extensive feedback, the Breef Team will always share any feedback that we receive.

We are also always open to hearing your feedback. It’s invaluable to us and guides our continued efforts to create an environment that brings out the best in every brand and agency. Please feel free to share any insights with us at community@breef.com

In Summary

These standards are critical to maintaining the integrity of our platform and community. Failure to comply with these guidelines may lead to the loss of your team’s eligibility to access projects on Breef, and the removal of your agency from the Breef Platform and Service. Let’s work together to build a strong community that empowers agencies to do their best work!
